Refining Clothing And More Art Tests

Refining Clothing And More Art Tests

I continued to improve and add pieces of clothing to the character, whilst using reference of both real life and high poly sculpts of models used in Borderlands to get folds looking right. At this stage I am not happy with the clothing folds and I am going to spend much more time refining and getting the simple yet crisp folds that Borderlands characters have.

Above are a few examples of the type of crisp clothing folds that I need to strive to recreate in my own sculpt.

More Clothing Sculpting

As mentioned above, I still have a long way to go on the folds of the clothing. I feel that my mistake so far is that I started with too many fold shapes too early on and need to simplify down the shapes more and give them sharper edges.

Art Test

Due to using the base mesh as starting point for clothing, the geometry was already unwrapped, meaning that I could quickly and easily export both the low and high poly shirt meshes that I had so far and import them into Substance Painter to see how they would look textured.
